Title: Red, White & Royal Blue Author: Casey McQuiston Genre: Young Adult, LGBTQ Pages: 432 Rating: ★★★★/.5 Synopsis: "A big-hearted romantic comedy in which First Son Alex falls in love with Prince Henry of Wales after an incident of international proportions forces them to pretend to be best friends... First Son Alex Claremont-Diaz is the closest thing to a prince this side of the Atlantic. With his intrepid sister and the Veep’s genius granddaughter, they’re the White House Trio, a beautiful millennial marketing strategy for his mother, President Ellen Claremont. International socialite duties do have downsides—namely, when photos of a confrontation with his longtime nemesis Prince Henry at a royal wedding leak to the tabloids and threaten American/British relations. The plan for damage control: staging a fake friendship between the First Son and the Prince. Alex is busy enough handling his mother’s bloodthirsty opponents and his own political ambitions without an uptight royal slowing him down. But beneath Henry’s Prince Charming veneer, there’s a soft-hearted eccentric with a dry sense of humor and more than one ghost haunting him. As President Claremont kicks off her reelection bid, Alex finds himself hurtling into a secret relationship with Henry that could derail the campaign and upend two nations. And Henry throws everything into question for Alex, an impulsive, charming guy who thought he knew everything: What is worth the sacrifice? How do you do all the good you can do? And, most importantly, how will history remember you?"

Hello everyone! I decided to make a blog about the things I like (such as books, films, languages) but I've been stalling ever since and a huge reason why is the first post. The first post is the special one, it's the one where I have to put my writing skills on display and prove to everyone (but mostly myself) that I'm not an embarrassment of a blogger and that this project will truly work. And that's why I really freaking scared. Back in 2014, I started a blog to write exclusively about books and I really liked the experience. However, I was barely a teen at that time and had no idea what I was doing (that's why the blog ended in 2017). A lot of time after that, I adventured myself on a studyblr/langblr - that I keep until this day, by the way - but it still didn't feel enough. So, in 2019, I made a goal of actually starting a blog, and taking it seriously too. I did not want to do things normally, though, and because of that I founded the "miya reads". This blog is meant to be a place where I discuss (and occasionally rant) about anything I want and I can do it in either Portuguese or English (and maybe Spanish). It's a place to read reviews of books, films, series, and even music albums; essays about related topics or posts with tips about some subjects I like. some quick intro about me I don't want to spread personal info about me on the internet (I barely have social media for the same reason), so I'll keep it simple but useful.
And that's it, enough about me. I hope you like this blog and stick around to read it. I'm glad that I got through the first post unharmed and you can expect new ones soon. |
